1. Upon the cross at Calvary
They crucified our Lord
Pierced His flesh with nailed and sword He uttered not a word
2.Placed upon His precious head A crown of many thorns
Spat upon Him, stripped Him bare And mocked Him in their scorn.
CH: Like a Lamb to slaughter, He went willingly
To bear the sin of all the world
Like a lamb to slaughter, He went willingly
To bear the sins of all the world and set us sinners free.
3.They weighed him down with a heavy cross Made Him carry it to the hill
Then nailed Him to it, hung Him up to die
In fulfillment of God’s will
4.Then it happened, just like the Good Book says On the third day He arose
Forty days, he once more spread the word
And so the story goes.
CH: Like a Lamb to slaughter, He went willingly
To bear the sin of all the world
Like a lamb o slaughter, He went willingly
To bear the sins of all the world and set us sinners free.
5.When doubting Thomas put his hand into the wounds It dropped him to his knees
Jesus told him “Blessed is the one
Who does not see and yet believes.”
6.Then HE went to Heaven to wait until the day He’ll come again in glory
To take his judgment on the living and the dead And bind the devil for eternity
CH: Like a Lamb to slaughter, He went willingly
To bear the sin of all the world
Like a lamb o slaughter, He went willingly
To bear the sins of all the world and set us sinners free
